New measuring chamber with extended frequency ranges

News

In the mobile communications sector, frequency ranges are increasingly being assigned to specific applications. On the one hand, this takes place in higher frequencies for massive data transmissions and on the other hand in lower frequency ranges for basic geographical coverage. The latter is particularly important for use in vehicles. With the introduction of 5G, mobile radio frequencies above 6 GHz will also be used in future. As a result, the demands on the development of corresponding antennas are also increasing continuously. For this reason, antenna technology has invested in a new measuring chamber, which was put into operation at the new Weimar-Legefeld site in March.

Ready for 5G applications

For this reason, antenna technology has invested in a new measuring chamber, which was put into operation at the new Weimar-Legefeld site in March.

Antennas for the world of tomorrow

The measuring chamber was largely built by the company itself. This ensures on the one hand the necessary metrological competence for the operation of the measuring chamber and on the other hand a dimensioning of the frequency ranges targeted to the company's own antenna portfolio under consideration of future requirements. With the installed technology, antennas for the new services in the V2X environment at 6GHz can be reliably directionally optimized and on the other hand, lower frequencies up to TETRA and LTE 450 are covered, which are no longer included in many common measuring chambers. Thus, the antenna technology is now even more future-oriented as a technology company in addition to its extended production possibilities in the new company building.
