ATTB Antennentechnik to become research and technology campus
In Legefeld, the foundation stone was laid on Friday for a piece of economic future in Weimar. The antenna technology located there will be the European headquarters of the Chinese Desay Group as of January, and thus far more than the traditional manufacturer of car antennas.
Managing Director Michael Weber, together with LEG boss and Lord Mayor, not only laid the foundation stone for the development center, which will house future vehicle prototypes It will also be responsible for vehicle electronics and software from Desay. Further buildings will soon be added to the existing building.
The ultramodern measuring chamber will have its own building. The production and storage area will grow. For this purpose, the existing ring road will be moved to the western edge of the site. With the new tasks for the Legefeld company, the need for administration is also growing. So could the existing building on the northern gable will be extended to create space for another 40 jobs.
For Weber, the development center under construction is the beginning of a state-of-the-art research and technology campus for pre-series vehicles and "Erlkönige". Already next year, Weber is expecting 20 to 30 new workstations. By 2025, the current workforce of 108 employees is to be doubled.
