Weimar-based electronics supplier Desay SV Europe is banking its growth on strong interest from European automakers for advanced infotainment systems. The focus is on displays that provide a unique experience for drivers and passengers.
Global electronics specialist Desay SV, based in Huizhou, China, offers its automotive customers the world's first curved 23.6-inch mini LED screen with two integrated displays. This screen shines with its innovative design concept and appearance.
New image technology and innovative display design
The LED screen has 1536 backlight partitions with a dynamic contrast ratio of more than 100,000:1, resulting in particularly clear display of content and more pronounced color planes. To achieve this, Desay SV uses its in-house OCA bonding capabilities in combination with R2200 radius cold bending of the screen, resulting in a better wrap-around look, i.e. a wider viewing angle.
Display high-tech worldwide
Desay SV is the market leader in China for displays, with a market share of 19% in 2022, and is equally market-leading in infotainment solutions, with a share of 17%. The portfolio consists of a wide range different display technologies and products in various sizes, such as curved screens, multi-screen, DMS fusion screens, in-cabin entertainment systems.
Desay SV Engineering provides automakers with cutting-edge display solutions that allow car designers to be fully responsive to customer needs. Last year, Desay SV shipped 3.63 million vehicle displays, ranking fourth in the global automotive market. Desay SV's long experience in research and large-scale production of advanced intelligent products, such as vehicle display systems for the Chinese market, is an important advantage for entering the international market.
Global strategy with focus on original equipment
In Europe, Weimar-based Desay SV Europe, which specializes in antenna and electronics solutions for European OEMs, can look back on a successfully growing business. The number of employees has tripled (from 80 to over 220), and finishing, technical center and logistics have been expanded. In the last two years, the German management succeeded in winning more than 20 project orders from well-known European car manufacturers.
Establishment of local engineering and testing capabilities for displays
A contributing factor has certainly been that Desay SV, as one of the first automotive suppliers in China, has built up a professional optical research and development team for vehicle displays. This development infrastructure is now being extended to Germany. Desay SV Europe is also setting up a state-of-the-art optical laboratory at its Weimar site for its European display activities. It is ISO 9001:2015 certified and shortens response times and paths in product and design development when working closely with European customers.
