New development center goes into operation

News

In November 2020, the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone for a new development center for prototype vehicles took place in Weimar-Legefeld. After 10 months of construction, the building was completed and occupied in September 2021. Around 15 project managers, engineers and software developers work in the offices on customized electronics and antenna solutions for well-known European automotive brands. The development center is designed for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles. "At the development center, we are working on the mobility of tomorrow," says Dr. Michael Weber, managing director of Desay SV Automotive Europe. "In doing so, we bring in our two core competencies: Intelligent driver assistance and infotainment systems combined with reliable, high-performance antennas."

TISAX certification for highest data security

The development center and the entire company premises have recently been TISAX-certified. The acronym stands for Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange. TISAX is a standard defined by the German Association of the Automotive Industry for maximum data security in prototype development. The entire company premises are fenced off, guarded around the clock and subject to strict access controls. The very first prototype vehicle recently arrived in Weimar-Legefeld (picture). "The project teams are based directly in the development center and have short distances to the prototype vehicles," says Marcus Och, head of development. "We can develop several prototypes at the same time. The individual vehicles are spatially separated from each other in the process."
